Katherine Katter, English Department Chair Katherine Katter has been an English Teacher at Milwaukee High school of the Arts since 1998. She graduated cum laude with distinction in Comparative Literature from the University of Washington, prior to which she studied Music Therapy at Kansas University. She earned her Masters' degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Alverno College, with a focus on Collaborative Assessment. In 2008, she earned National Board Teacher Certification. Mrs. Katter is MHSA's National Honor Society Adviser. She also encourages students and families to participate in AFS, a high school international exchange program. She was a host mom to several MHSA exchange students: Felix Herzog of Germany (99-00); Marthannguaq Rasmussen of Greenland (00-01); Jonas Ornes-Andersen of Norway (02-03), Leelawat Anchunboot of Thailand (04-05) and Diandra Russo of Switzerland(05-06) . Mrs. Katter is the proud mother of three MHSA alums, Nicholas(03) and Anna(04), and Laura (07).
