Sandra Jordan joined the MHSA dance faculty in 1996. A former member of the Ko-Thi Dance Company (1985-1997), Sandra has studied with members of the Alvin Ailey, Jose Limon, Martha Graham, Kathryn Posin, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Companies, Dallas Black Dance Theatre and the Milwaukee Dance Connection . She has taught African dance technique at both UW-Milwaukee, Milwaukee Ballet, and at University School through Danceworks. Her choreography credits include the restaging of a Ko-Thi work in the 1996 dance concert at MHSA, the C.A.P.I.T.A. production of The Wiz, and the Milwaukee Dance Connection. Sandra holds a B.F.A. in Dance Education (K-12) and M.F.A. in Dance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and a M.A. in Arts Administration from the Center for Arts Administration at University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Dean Drews holds a BS in Education and an MFA in Dance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He completed his dance teacher certification program through Alverno College. He has studied with members of the Milwaukee Ballet, Martha Graham Dance Company, Bill T Jones/Arnie Zane, Alvin Ailey, Jose Limon, Joseph Holmes Dance Theatre, Milwaukee Dance Theater, and Bauer Contemporary Ballet. His professional dance and theatre performance experiences include the Fireside Dinner Theatre, Bauer Contemporary Ballet, Dancecircus, Six Flags Great Adventure, Music Under the Stars, the Florentine Opera, and the Milwaukee Opera. He has been a staff member at MHSA for the past nineteen years. Mr Drews has choreographed and directed musicals in the Milwaukee community and has served as an adjunct faculty member in the UW-Milwaukee Dance Department.

Anna Brueggeman

Anna Brueggeman has a Masters in Education with an emphasis on Professional Development(dance education) from Alverno College, Bachelors of the Arts in Dance and Bachelors of Science in Education with a minor in English from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and K-12 Dance Education Certification from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is currently pursuing an Masters of Fine Arts in Performance Dance at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Prior to returning to her alma mater MHSA in 2008, she directed the dance department and taught English at Gila Ridge High School in Arizona. She has had the pleasure of teaching, choreographing, performing, and directing numerous classes and productions in the Milwaukee area and Arizona most recently choreographing MHSA’s production of Hairspray. In addition, her work, Baggage, was selected and performed at the National High School Dance Festival in Miami, Florida in 2010. Anna has a diverse training background including ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, tap, improvisation and choreography. Her studies include the American Dance Festival, American College Dance Festival, where she had the privilege have having her work adjudicated, Black College Dance Festival, Dance Masters of Wisconsin and Chicago National Association of Dance Masters, dancing with Allyne Gartrell’s Dance Connection and Metro Milwaukee Ballet Pre-Professional Ensemble with Rafael Delgado and Melissa Anderson and Nancy Diane Studio of Dance.instructor's page
